Colegio Almirante R. Carey Brenton

Barb continues to enjoy teaching (English) and training teachers at the school. Tim and Barb also teach a Bible class together. Although the school is time consuming, it is so fulfilling to see changed lives of the students.

A few years ago a young gal entered the junior high school. She was troubled, selfish, and mixed up. God has done a total turn around in her life. Her "light" brightly shines as she shares the Lord with others. She has served in missions, children's Bible Clubs, and camps. She now is in high school and wants to continue studying at a Christian College to serve the Lord!

This year we have 82 junior high students and 8 students in the 1st year of high school!

Yes, this school year we started the high school. Each year we will add another year to the high school.

In the field of education in the area around Ometepec, there is a great need for quality education. Many people that desire a good education for their children sent them to the nearest metropolis to seek high school and even junior high educations. Many of these people believe they have no choice so they allow their children to leave home in the years when their children need them most!

This years graduating class, the class of 2009, will be the first class to have attended all three years at the Carey Brenton. Please continue to pray each of the Carey Brenton students, and also for strength and wisdom for each of the teachers. Also keep in your prayers the financial situation of the school as it starts to support itself. Please especially pray for volunteer English teachers who are willing to come and teach English for a school year.
